London, ON - Connor McDavid scored his first OHL goal for the Erie Otters, but a five-goal second period by the London Knights gave the defending OHL Champions an 8-2 win over the Otters Friday night.

Max Domi scored just over six minutes into the game to put the Knights on the board. Then at 11:42 McDavid deflected an Adam Pelech shot to tie the game at one, McDavid's first in the OHL.

Adam Restoule scored the first of his two goals with three minutes left in the first period, capitalizing on an Otters defensive zone turnover to break the tie.

The second period belonged to the Knights, who scored five times during the middle frame as Seth Griffith recorded a hat trick for the hometown team. J.P. Labardo scored the lone goal of the period for the Otters at 10:07, his first as an Otter. McDavid and Brown recorded the assists.

Restoule scored the only goal of the third to complete the scoring for the Knights in their win. Rookie defenseman Justin Felker made his OHL debut for the Otters.

Next up for the Otters is a road game against the Peterborough Petes Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. Fans can listen to all the action starting with the Erie Federal Credit Union Pre-game Show beginning at 6:45 p.m. on Fox Sports Radio AM 1330 The Fan.
